If Stones Could Talk...

Weekly Overview of Below the Bible Belt
1

Piles of stones rock and roll our world this week, with five chapters in the book of Joshua full of piles of rocks as milestones and borders, markers of triumph, memorials for battles won and mysteries awaiting to be explored.

Below the Bible Belt is not about nostalgia or better knowledge of the Bible - it’s about making sense of our past towards a better present and much better future - guided by our values, and challenging some of the ones that we inherited - no longer guiding our humanistic spirit in a world that needs much more care, justice and love. Joshua was used by Israel’s founders as a blueprint for nation building and occupation. Today we read it as a warning sign and look for wisdom in how we can grow, govern, care for each other in kinder ways.

What’s rocks got to do with it? Check it out, find out. Join me next week for the continued journey with Joshua. May there be peace on this shabbat and in our hearts, in every promised land of possibilities and under every rock.

Check out today’s new vid.

Shabbat Shalom.
