Weekly Overview of Below the Bible Belt

Ba'Midbar Chapters 19-23
1

Fact, fake, fiction, flawed?? Did you hear that the Bible was banned this week in a Texas school district, along with Anne Frank’s Diary, books by Toni Morrison and LGBTQ+ literature? Today on the weekly review of Below the Bible Belt let’s talk about the limits of faith, the power of story, and the enduring enigma which is this book that for better or worse still matters to so many today.

This past week we read through chapters 19-23 of the wilderness book, met a rare red cow, a talking donkey, a healing copper serpent , a wandering well, a magic wand, and a rock that becomes a fountain. Wtf?

Is the Bible full of fairy tales or what’s going on what the book of wilderness messes with myth? What the faith??

German Jewish philosopher Franz Rosenzweig joins our exploration.

Check out the new short vid. Keep exploring.

Shabbat Shalom.
