Boy does this intrigue me! I imagine the real connection is to Adam, and that David is the new Adam prefiguring the Christian new Adam in Jesus (who is in the lineage of David). I wonder if there are any red-haired images of Christ.
Also, red-hair in the near eastern world seems like a rare thing. Is it?
