Today, I can't help but think of the voting booth as a veritable sukkah shlomecha. It too is a sacred, temporary and vulnerable space. When the time comes for us to enter these booths and vote, may we draw wisdom, strength and moral courage from such ushpizin as those who honor, defend and uphold our Constitution and rule of law, as well as those who cry out for dignity, autonomy, freedom and equality to be and be counted among humanity. And in so voting with our hearts may we dismantle systemic and institutional oppression and discrimination and infuse our divine broken pieces with renewed truth, justice and righteousness to collectively create and construct a beautiful mosaic world with space to let light in and room to breathe for one and all. Ken y'hi ratzon. Chag Sukkot Sameach!

Zora - I appreciate your thoughtful and moving note. YES! The voting booth is our holy of holies, and is the room where it happens -- the temporary shrine that helps us all have a roof of decency and dignity over our heads. ideally.. Thank you for the kind words and blessings.
