I was behind in my chapters a few days, and so I spent yesterday reading 8-14, and then reading your commentaries. When you read them one by one, its definitely different than reading in a chunk where you see more of a "story arc." What stood out to me was the difference in the kinds of protest; between having a "beef," a genuine gripe or issue and wanting to approach the situation in a way that can be resolved amicably (the Passover), and just general whining and rabble-rousing ("Why are we here? It was better in Egypt!"), which only fuels discord. Also, sheesh, poor Moses.
